Waterford Greenway

Running along the former Waterford City to Dungarvan railway line, Waterford Greenway is 46km of paved off road cycle track running acrossGreenwaydurrowviaduct County Waterford. Taking in a series of spectacular coastal and mountain views and crossing the path of many historical attractions, Waterford Greenway is an excellent day out for anyone looking to see the best of south east Ireland.

Our accomodatio is located only a short spin away from the Greenway entry point at Kilmacthomas or Durrow we can give a free shuttle service to any cyclists staying with us. We also provide secure locked bike storage for anyone staying with us and bringing their own bikes and can arrange bike rental for those without.

We can also arrange cycling tours of the area for anyone staying in our accomodation.

Copper Coast Geopark Centre
The once disused Protestant Church at Knockmahon, Bunmahon, has been refurbished and extended to house the Geopark Centre. See the Miners of the Copper Coast Films, Mining Exhibition, get information on the mining history, geology and heritage of the area and enjoy some refreshments in the coffee dock.

Waterford & Suir Valley Railway railway
Enjoy a trip on the Suir Valley Railway located at the old Kilmeaden Railway Station and experience the beauty of the Suir Valley and the River Suir giving excellent views of Mount Congreve Gardens.

Copper Coast Mini Farm
All the family will enjoy a visit to the Copper Coast Mini Farm. As well as the animals there is plenty for the children to enjoy with sand pits, buckets and spades and toy tractors. Relax with a cuppa and home baking at the Copper Kettle Tea Rooms.

Waterford City
Waterford is the oldest city in Ireland. The Viking Triangle takes you back to the time of the Vikings. Visit Reginald’s Tower to hear how Reginald the Viking founded the city in 914. Visit Christ Church Cathedral Strongbow and Aoife were married in 1170. Greyfriars Friary was founded in 1240 and closed 300 years later by King Henry VIII. Learn about Waterford's medieval deans and bishops in the 13th century Chorister's Hall. The Bishop's Palace tells the story from 1700 to 1970. Waterford is famous for its crystal and the Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre offers guided tours. The Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity and Christ Church Cathedral were both designed by John Roberts.

The Edmund Rice International Heritage Centre is the final resting place of the founder of the Christian and Presentation Brothers, Edmund Ignatius Rice.
